Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea has received a top honor from the Korea Tourism Association – an exclusive five-star hotel rating.
Mohegan opened the first phase of Inspire in November at a cost of $1.6 billion. The initial resort features 1,275 hotel rooms, suites and villas, 10 restaurants, an immersive entertainment boulevard, a 15,000-capacity arena and an event centre. The resort also has an indoor pool and a water park called Splash Bay.
The Mohegan Tribe Gaming Authority announced this week that the Inspire Hotel has been designated a five-star hotel by the Korea Tourism Association. The government agency uses a strict evaluation called the Korean Hotel Rating System in evaluating hotels across the country.
A five-star hotel should have impeccable cleanliness, exceptional design and amenities, and exceptional service standards.

Casino is coming soon
Mohegan Inspire is a planned $5 billion destination development that will be completed through several additional construction phases. The resort is located at Incheon International Airport.
For Mohegan’s big bet to make a return, the tribe-owned, Connecticut-based company says a casino is needed. Mohegan executives expect to soon obtain the resort’s gaming license and open the casino in the first quarter of 2024.
Inspire Casino has an area of approximately 200,000 square meters and has 1,500 slot machines and 250 table games. The casino is intended for foreigners, as South Koreans are only allowed to gamble in casinos in Gangwon Land, a remote resort owned and operated by the Korean government.
