Gaming revenue in Louisiana fell slightly to $210.5 million in December – CDC Gaming reports
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board on Thursday reported December 2023 gaming revenue of $210.5 million, a year-over-year decline of 0.6% and flat compared to 2019.
Online sports betting revenue in Louisiana was $52.0 million, an increase of 69% from December 2023, from $345.0 million, an increase of 58%. Revenue from retail sports betting was $4.5 million from $32.1 million.
Louisiana’s Lake Charles region reported revenue of $83.1 million, a decline of 3.3% year over year. Golden Nugget Lake Charles led Lake Charles properties with $31.1 million in revenue, with L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles bringing in $28.1 million, Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel $14.2 million, and Horseshoe Lake Charles bringing in $9.6 million.
Shreveport/Bossier properties reported $51.0 million in gaming revenue, a year-over-year decrease of -1.7%. Margaritaville Resort Casino generated revenue of $16.5 million, Horseshoe Bossier City generated $13.7 million and Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel generated $9.9 million.
Real estate in the New Orleans area generated revenue of $47.4 million, an increase of 2.8% year over year. Harrah’s New Orleans had revenue of $24.7 million, followed by Boomtown Casino & Hotel with $9.7 million and Treasure Chest Casino with $7.0 million.
Baton Rouge area real estate reported revenues of $22.4 million, a year-over-year increase of 2.1%. L’Auberge Casino Hotel made $15.0 million, followed by Hollywood Casino Hotel Baton Rouge with $6.8 million and Belle of Baton Rouge Casino Hotel with $0.7 million.
Revenue from Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino in St. Landry Parish $6.7 million, an increase of 13.1% from December 2022.
